Dealing With Fluid Stains
While drink stains can be relatively straightforward to remove, getting rid of other types of fluid can be more complex. Follow our guide below for tips on how to get each of the following types of fluid out of your carpet.
Bloodstains can be removed from carpet by following this process:
Apply a mixture of 1 cup of vinegar and 2 cups of warm water to the stain. Repeat this process once and then blot clean with a clean cloth. Then allow it to air dry.
If the stain is not fully removed, you may want to consider calling an expert.
- Pet urine can be removed using the following process:
First, scrub the area with a solution that is one part vinegar and one part water. Then, apply baking soda to the area and let it sit for 24 hours. Once that period has passed, mix one part water, one part hydrogen peroxide, and a small amount of liquid detergent, and then scrub the stain.
If the smell persists, you may need to call an expert.
- Vomit stains can be removed using the following process:
- First, you'll blot up/remove as much of the remaining waste as possible. Then you'll apply enzyme detergent and blot. From there, you'll apply a solution of one part vinegar and one part warm water and blot again. Finally, you'll rinse the stain with warm water and blot until dry.
If the stain persists, you may need to call an expert.
